My name is Hadia Rasouli, and I am the founder of Afghan Angels. Our mission is to help families in Afghanistan who need financial aid for medical bills, monthly groceries, and to support the youth with school necessities.
During a summer visit to Afghanistan, I experienced a moment that changed my perspective forever. While buying cheese for breakfast with my grandma, she was 10 Afghanis short on her payment. The elderly storeowner, understanding the economic hardship many face, kindly covered the difference. Despite his age, he continued working to support his family, and his generosity deeply moved me. I recognized the struggle to make ends meet, having faced similar challenges myself, and felt compelled to take action.
This experience, combined with my personal connection to Afghanistan and the opportunities I have living in the U.S., inspired me to start Afghan Angels. The funds raised will first go toward registering Afghan Angels as a nonprofit organization, allowing me to expand our reach and impact. After registration, the remaining funds will be sent directly to families in Afghanistan, providing them with economic aid for groceries, medical bills, and school supplies for youth.
