YERRRR! My name is Ms. Branker—my students call me Ms. B or Ms. M-Dot. I’m a middle school upper-level math teacher in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY. Over the past few years, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible potential, hope, grit, and brilliance that young people from this community—and others with similar socioeconomic challenges—carry with them every day.

Math and science are my passion. Teaching is my soul’s purpose. In my classroom, I do everything I can to blend the two and give my students the support they deserve. But the truth is, 110 minutes of math class and a 45-minute office hour once every two weeks just isn’t enough to meet all of their needs.

That’s why I’m creating this campaign.

I’m currently building a free virtual math tutor app designed specifically for students in grades 6–12 across New York State. The app will provide extra help, practice, and support beyond the classroom—anytime, anywhere. While I’m confident in my coding skills, launching and maintaining an app on iOS, Android, and the web requires funding that I don’t currently have.

My goal is to keep this app 100% free for students and parents, with no ads and no paywalls.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

1. Hiring an engineer to review and refine my code to ensure the app is functional, secure, and user-friendly before launch.

2. Covering platform and subscription costs so the app can remain free, accessible, and ad-free for all users.
