For over a decade, I’ve dedicated my life to teaching art and sharing the joy of creativity with others. My connection to clay started when I was young, attending a local studio called Art for All. That space sparked something in me early on; it was one of the first places I felt truly engaged and excited to learn. When I was in high school, the ceramics room became a place where I felt confident, successful, and like I truly fit in. Clay taught me patience, persistence, and the value of simply showing up day after day. It showed me that growth doesn’t happen all at once, but through steady effort and willingness to try again. That experience built a kind of confidence I hadn’t felt before, and it’s something I carry with me into my teaching today. Creating this studio feels like a full-circle moment. I want to extend that same sense of belonging, growth, and connection to anyone who finds their way to clay. Now, I’m taking the next step by opening a ceramics studio that will serve both myself and the local community. This dream has been years in the making, and I’m excited to create a welcoming space where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to explore clay, learn new skills, and connect.
Before we can open the doors, I need help outfitting the studio with essential equipment. Your donation will go directly toward building expenses, a clay trap sink for safe and eco-conscious cleanup, pottery wheels and work tables, shelving and storage for tools and supplies, basic hand tools, bats, trimming stations, and a slab roller for handbuilding projects. These items are the foundation for a safe, functional, and inspiring creative space.
This studio isn’t just for professional artists; it’s for everyone. I plan to offer workshops for kids and teens, sliding-scale memberships and open studio nights, and nature-based clay sessions within the woodland landscapes. I’ll collaborate with local schools and growing young artists, organizations, and fellow artists to make sure the studio is accessible and welcoming. I’ve seen firsthand how creative spaces build confidence, foster healing, and strengthen community. With your support, we can create a place where people unplug, play, and create together.
