I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but I’m at a point where I truly need help. Since December 20, 2025, I’ve been living in a camper with my puppy, Lullaby, and six other dogs I took in after their owners were incarcerated. They had nowhere else to go, and I couldn’t turn my back on them. Right now, it’s me and seven dogs—three females and four males—trying to survive day by day. Two of the males don’t get along and must be kept completely separated, and another male also can’t safely stay with the other boys, so he lives in a second small camper next to mine. That means I’m maintaining and cleaning two campers, managing constant separation, and dealing with everything that comes with caring for seven living beings in very tight conditions. We’ve already survived a brutal winter out here. I spent months winterizing as best I could so none of us would freeze. I’ve had very little financial support—just occasional help from a friend or two for groceries or dog food, and my incredible mom, who has gone into debt trying to help me keep going. I hate that she’s carrying that burden! I’m now at a breaking point. My propane is almost gone, and that’s how I cook and keep basic needs met. I urgently need dog food for all seven dogs. I have an upcoming electric bill I cannot currently cover. My truck also needs back brakes, and I don’t have a safe way to fix it. I’ve been trying to scrape together income doing whatever I can, but the physical strain is catching up with me—especially as I’m about to turn 51 next week.

Despite everything, I love these dogs deeply. They are not just animals in my care—they are family. We’ve already suffered heartbreak: last fall we lost two dogs in a camper fire and another became very sick. I nursed him back to health and made myself a promise that I would do everything I could to never lose another one due to circumstances I might have prevented. These babies didn’t choose this life. They didn’t choose instability, cold winters, or limited resources. But they are safe with me, and I intend to keep it that way as long as I possibly can. I am asking for help so I can continue caring for them properly—food, propane, basic bills, and urgent vehicle repairs so I can stay mobile and keep everything going.
