My name is Latoya, and I am reaching out during one of the most difficult times of my life. Not long ago in May, I was diagnosed with cancer, and on December 4th, 2025, I underwent surgery for the second time. In May it was emergency surgery because one of the tumors exploded in my ovary so they had to give me a full hysterectomy and remove part of my bowel. Then from July to October I underwent 6 rounds of chemo. The first round hospitalized me for 2 weeks. The surgery in December was the same only this time they had to remove my gallbladder and give me heated chemo within my stomach and open area. The recovery process has made it impossible for me to work, and as a result, I have fallen behind on my rent and utilities. My landlord has been understanding, but can no longer carry the burden, and as of today, I have been given 30 days to vacate my home. I know everyone has their own battles and life they have to cover but if you can spare anything it would greatly help. I only get SSD but it disqualified me from having Medicaid and now they say I can’t get assistance with housing due to the type of disability I get. I have reached out to every rental place every agency every cancer place there’s no help anywhere and the ones that can there’s a waiting list that I am just a number on. Who knows if I’ll even get a call back this year. If you can’t donate can you find it in your heart to at least share. I pray the Lord blesses us all and keeps me during this time. Thank you
This situation is especially difficult because I recently lost my mother to cancer as well. The emotional and financial toll has left me at my wits’ end. I have tried every possible avenue for assistance, but with the current state of the country, resources are limited and options are few. I am still healing from surgery, and if I could return to work right now, I would do so in a heartbeat.
I am asking for help to cover my overdue rent and utilities so I can stay in my home and focus on healing. If you are able to contribute or even share my story, it would mean the world to me. Your kindness and support during this time are deeply appreciated, and I am grateful for any help you can offer.
