Help Latoya & Her Cats Avoid Homelessness
Donation protected
My name is Latoya, and I’ve been a nurse specializing in geriatric care for over a decade. I’ve always dedicated myself to caring for others, but now I find myself in a position where I need help. After leaving a marriage of seven years due to domestic violence, I was left to manage a household on my own. The decision to leave was not easy, but it was necessary for my safety and well-being. Unfortunately, the aftermath brought a heavy financial burden, and I’ve also faced harassment and stalking from a former partner, which has added to my trauma and PTSD.
Throughout these challenges, my two cats, Tootsie (12) and Taffy (10), have been my constant companions. They keep me grounded and give me the daily comfort I need to keep going. My friends have helped me keep my apartment so far, but I am now at a point where I am struggling to pay rent and my electricity bill. I feel embarrassed and ashamed to ask for help, but I am truly drowning. Having experienced homelessness in my youth, I am terrified of ending up on the streets again, especially with my cats who depend on me.
Reaching this fundraiser amount would give me a fresh start and allow me to stay on top of my bills, rather than constantly digging myself out of a financial hole. Your support would mean stability and hope for me and my cats, and help us move forward from this difficult chapter. Thank you for considering helping us during this time.
