Lawson's Physical Rehabilitation Fund
Donation protected
On 13 of March 2021 (age 16), Lawson was at a beach volley event in Mandurah when the swimming accident happened. The incident resulted in a break of Lawson’s C5 vertebra and damage to the spinal cord. He was helicopter evacuated to Royal Perth Hospital. Over the next few weeks he had traction and spinal surgery to stabilise his injury.
Lawson is in Fiona Stanley Hospital receiving physio and occupational therapy. Currently his range of movements is limited to shoulders, contracting his elbows with his Biceps (no to weak extending of elbows, that is no triceps). He has limited wrist movement and no finger or thumb control in his hands. Lawson does not have motor function in his legs.
We are fund raising for Lawson’s future of ongoing care, specialized equipment, educational needs and housing modifications. Your donation will be greatly appreciated.
