Help last call dog, Giggles, get FHO surgery

Donation protected
Giggles was found as a stray in Fort Worth, Texas on February 8th and taken to the local city shelter, Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. She spent 42 long days waiting for someone to notice her. Unfortunately, she ended up on the dreaded euthanasia list due to lack of space at the shelter. She was a volunteer & staff favorite! A plan was put into place to make sure Giggles' life didn't end at the shelter. An out of state rescue partnered with the shelter to help find her a forever home. Once she was placed in a local foster home prior to transport, it was quickly noticed that Giggles needed additional medical care. Through x-rays, a vet identified the issue and let us know she needed FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery. This surgery is not only necessary to live a long, healthy life but it will eliminate the great deal of pain Giggles has. Specifically, the FHO surgery removes the femoral head and neck of the femur in order to eliminate the bone-on-bone contact of the hip.

We are raising $3,000 to help cover the expense of this surgery that she will receive once she gets to her final destination in the Northeast with a rescue group. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will make a life-changing difference to this sweet last call survivor.
