Help Lascano and Katumu families with COVID costs
Donation protected
Dear loved ones,
Several of you have asked how you can support us as our families abroad struggle with COVID. Since both families face this battle, I'm launching this collective fundraiser and we'll half the proceeds raised. It can be hard to accept help, but here we are, asking God to increase our faith through suffering and vulnerability.
Below are some words from my wife's family (Ecuador - Lascano) and my pastor's family (Kenya - Katumu). I love these people dearly. As safety nets/stimulus packages are non-existent where they live, I hope you'll join me in relieving the financial strain that accompanies the pain of fighting for your health and very life.
With humble gratitude,
J. Mark Bowers
"Nearly the entire Lascano family (Ambato, Ecuador) became sick with COVID the first week of April. Tannia's mother Elena and her sister Fernanda were eventually hospitalized to receive oxygen due to compromised lungs. Thankfully, Fernanda is home recovering, but Elena has been hospitalized now for over a week and remains weak. With bed and oxygen shortages nation-wide, the clinic where she receives care charges over $1,000 per day." John Mark and Tannia long for your prayers and help during tough season.
"The Katumu Family in Kenya has experienced the harsh reality of COVID19 in the past two weeks. Daniel Katumu (Josiah's dad) tested positive after falling ill. Due to bed shortages, he was sent home. Thankfully he has been improving since then. At the same time Josiah's aunt (Rebecca Muthami) was hospitalized with severe lung failure and has been receiving oxygen since then. She's admitted at a local private clinic due to bed shortages. The cost per day is over $500." Josiah and Quiana covet your prayers and assistance during this difficult time.
