Help Las Vegas Ice Theatre Compete at Nationals!

The Las Vegas Ice Theatre Team would like your support to reach their goal of competing in the Theatre on Ice Nationals in Wichita, KS, this June. Teams from all over the US will compete for a National medal...something that this team has earned before and hopes to do again! Not to mention, Las Vegas Ice Theatre is the first and ONLY Theatre on Ice Team in the entire state of Nevada and they are incredibly talented!!

LAS VEGAS ICE THEATRE is a youth sports organization with fourteen figure skaters aged 10-16 years old.  This season there are 8 returning and 6 new team members. This incredible Team went through rigorous auditions and was selected based on both skating and performance ability. The team practices together every Saturday morning and skaters train individually on and off the ice 3-5 days per week to improve their skating skills and physical strength. Skaters on the Team meet a high academic standard, and most of them are "Straight A" students. The physical and mental discipline involved in being a member of this Team is extremely high and requires dedication and determination - and these skaters demonstrate it every day.

In their National debut in 2019, Las Vegas Ice Theatre came in 4th place out of 22 teams! An unbelievable feat for a brand new team! Excited as ever for the 2020 season, their hopes and dreams came to a screeching halt when the pandemic hit. Ice rinks worldwide shut down and The National Championship was cancelled. The team continued to practice virtually until the rinks finally opened again. In the fall of 2020, they auditioned again and worked toward the 2021 event...only to be crushed again when the National Championship was cancelled for the second year in a row. This determined team continued to train relentlessly and entered the 2021 National Theatre on Ice Virtual Challenge... and WON!

This team has persevered through two incredibly tough seasons, a roller coaster of emotions, and continue to push through and train with even more diligence. They are beginning the 2022 Competitive Season, energized, excited, and preparing for the first in person event since  2019. The sets and props are being assembled, the costumes are being sewn, and the choreography is getting fine tuned. But they NEED YOUR HELP!

Preparing for a challenging event this big takes time and money to cover team registration, competition entry fees, and travel fees (including flights, hotels, rental cars, and prop transportation). Your contributions will prove to each skater that you can achieve your dreams when you work hard. At such an impressionable age, these skaters will feel encouraged by your support. By investing in them, you are not only investing in our community but inspiring them to do the same...as our future leaders, our future performers, our future coaches, teachers, and choreographers.

The skaters (and the parents!) have been through so much and have worked so hard to get to this point and we cannot make it to Nationals without the generosity of our supporters! All donations are tax deductible and go directly to the Team via the Skating Club of Nevada (our Home Club). **The Skating Club of Nevada is a not-for-profit organization that promotes a safe and welcoming environment to all of our skaters and families. The primary purpose of the SC of Nevada is to help develop skaters of all ages in the different areas of figure skating. Please help the Las Vegas Ice Theatre team on their journey!!

******************************************************************

There are very few opportunities in figure skating to really work with other skaters and create a sense of camaraderie. Figure skating itself is an individually based sport, but the Theatre on Ice team brings numerous figure skaters together to create an entirely new art form (and sport) on the ice. The team is able to tell a story much like an entire cast of a play or a large dance group.
