On February 19, 2026, our good friend Larry’s life changed in an instant. He became unexpectedly sick with an acute bladder infection that quickly led to kidney failure and sepsis. His body began shutting down, and he was rushed by ambulance to Bonner General. When it became clear he needed more advanced care, Larry was transferred to Kootenai Health, where doctors placed a port in his chest for emergency dialysis to save his life. After two weeks fighting the infection in the hospital, Larry was moved to a rehabilitation facility to regain his strength and focus on recovery. Through it all, his girlfriend Julie has never left his side, making sure Larry receives the best care possible.

Now, Larry still needs dialysis for the foreseeable future. The mounting medical bills and ongoing treatment costs have put his modest home—where he’s lived for much of his life—at risk. Larry is an honored Veteran who proudly served his country, and he and Julie are doing everything they can to get him well and back home. Each time Ive seen him that’s the first thing on his mind, going home.
