Help Larry Move Home to Campbell River

I left Canada 60 years ago and built a life here in the U.S. For the past 16 years, I've been happy in the small town I live in now, but due to advancing age (I'm 83 now) I can no longer do the things that attracted me here, like hiking the back country and climbing the many mountains. I spend my days watching YouTube videos, and that is less than rewarding.

During the years 2002 to 2012, I owned a truck, camper, and small boat and traveled extensively, but found myself being drawn more and more to the area I started from—the coast of British Columbia. I loved exploring the islands and coast and being able to manage that activity. On one of my trips, in 2009, I spent over a month on Vancouver Island and fell in love with the small community of Campbell River. That's where I've set my sights on moving to.

Moving back to Canada will be much more expensive than I anticipated. Here in the U.S., I qualified for a HUD assistance program for rent, which makes it possible to survive (barely) on Social Security. That won't be available to me in Canada, so I'll need to buy a small home or mobile home. The amount I can finance will only cover a modest place. I don't require a mansion—a small fixer-upper would be ideal, as I'm very handy and skilled in building trades, especially plumbing and electrical.

Any support you can offer will help me make this move and start a new chapter of my life back where I started from. Many thanks in advance.
