Hi, my name is Kass, and I’m reaching out feeling anxious but hopeful. My friends encouraged me to ask for help. My dog Larry (who is the most hilarious embodiment of goofy, stubborn, and too smart for his own good) has been fighting for his life in critical care.
Last week, Larry came down with a severe, sudden case of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It hit without warning. Within a matter of 6 hours Larry went from his happy goofy self to too lethargic to walk, shivering uncontrollably, and passing/vomiting blood from both ends. I had to carry him outside when he had to use the restroom (if it miraculously didn’t end up on my carpet) and when things became dire, I had to carry him to my car to go to the hospital because he couldn’t walk.
Ultimately I had to rush Larry to the animal hospital, where he spent 3 more days battling dehydration, explosive digestive issues, and overwhelming discomfort. He could barely move, and when he did, it was often to vomit, pass blood, or trying to get in a slightly more comfortable position.
Despite round the clock care, extensive medical testing, ultrasounds, and bloodwork, there still are no answers. He needs more close monitoring and ongoing treatment (blood work, liver medications, anti-nausea meds) and I need help in getting him this care.
Right now, the total vet bills have reached approximately $5400. I have used the monthly funds I have set aside for rent, groceries and monthly necessities to cover part of his emergency care. I have borrowed all I can and I’m truly up against a wall. I need any type of help I can get.
Larry is the first dog I raised all on my own and I am so proud of how far he has come. I can’t imagine my world without him. I’m doing everything in my power to keep him happy, healthy, and stable but I can’t get him everything he needs on my own.
A donation of $1 would be appreciated more than you know. If you’re not able to give right now, just sharing this campaign would be an incredible help!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, and supporting us during this terrifying time.
With love and gratitude,
Kass, Shy, and Larry ❤️
