Larry's kidney transplant fund

I am starting this Go Fund Me page on behalf of my brother-in-law, Larry Gordon. Larry is a wonderful father, husband, son, uncle, brother and friend. He is the primary provider for his family, loving husband to his wife Tracey, and amazing mentor to their three children, Lawrence, Elizabeth, and Julia. Larry is a genuine, hardworking, and compassionate man. He never misses an opportunity to help someone in need or show his support for his children and nieces/nephews both on and off the sidelines. He has also volunteered his time to coach in town sports including Wilmington Youth Softball, Baseball, Basketball and was often the announcer for the varsity team games and has organized many fundraisers. Over the years Larry has shown his commitment to his family, friends, and community however now he is the one in need of support.
What some of you may not realize is that Larry is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. He has been living with type II diabetes for 25 + years and was more recently diagnosed with advanced Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). As you can imagine this diagnosis was devastating news for Larry and his family. For the past 2 years Larry has been receiving dialysis several times a week and his name been added to the National Kidney Registry. Despite these health problems, Larry is still working fulltime but the physical toll of dialysis has limited his ability to work in the field. To put it simply, dialysis depletes your energy levels and takes precious time away from family and work. A kidney transplant would drastically reduce and/or eliminate the risks associated with routine dialysis and other complications associated with CKD. This would allow Larry to get back to doing the things he loves and improve his overall quality of life. We hope and pray that Larry finds his kidney donor soon.
All donations to the #LGWARRIORS77 Go Fund Me page will help alleviate some of the financial burden associated with medical costs to pay for medications, procedures, and extended hospital stays. This is required to maintain Larry’s health until he receives a kidney transplant. In addition, this will provide some much needed relief during the many months of recovery time following transplant surgery. Larry’s health and leave of absence are of great concern to our entire family, particularly because his wife and children (including 2 in college) rely on this main source of income. Any amount would be appreciated and will help reduce the financial strain of these medical bills.
We thank you for taking the time to read Larry’s story and for considering a donation to this important cause. If you choose to donate and help the Gordon family, you will not only give my brother-in-law a new lease on life, but you will also help ensure that his children have their dad and my sister has her husband. You will help drastically improve a man's life who has dedicated himself to supporting others. Collectively, we can make a real difference in Larry’s life.
Kind Regards,
Sandra Brannelly, Carol Wingate and Janice McLaughlin on behalf of The Gordon Family
