Hi everyone. I'm Deb Rozell Hughes. Larry & Pam Eastridge have been our bestest of friends for over 30 years. I am in need of your compassion, support & generosity. On 8/24/24, Larry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Larry's situation soon became more complicated due to an underlying heart condition. This has restricted what he can tolerate for chemo.

Larry is currently living in Genoa City but originally from the little town of Lyons. Larry enjoys RVing, fishing, time with family & has a great talent & love for music. Many of you are familiar with his old band, Country Grass. Larry has served the community for many years, including Lions Club for 2 decades and multiple fundraisers for people in need over the years with his wife Pam. Larry brought heart to his community and his love for people.

On 8/24/24, Larry was taken to the ER for intense pain. He was diagnosed with Stage 1B pancreatic cancer. Larry & Pam were ready for battle. Chemo had to be delayed due to the condition of his heart. He had a secondary condition of cardiomyopathy, a hereditary condition causing a severe thickening of his heart wall with a heart function of 28%. The chemo for Larry's aggressive type of cancer would prove to be highly toxic to his heart. Larry & Pam are a force to be reckoned with & decided against the recommendation of the doctor and went full force with chemo. After 3 months of treatment, Larry underwent surgery for a pancreatectomy/splenectomy in April 2025. Post-surgical pathology came back clean. Great news! Three weeks later, a CT scan identified spots on his liver. A PET scan confirmed 11+ spots of cancer on his liver, inoperable.

Pure devastation. Larry & Pam continued their fight, completing five more rounds of chemo before being dealt another blow. Cancer antigens continued to skyrocket, indicating the chemo was not effective. The alternative was a more toxic regimen of chemo. He underwent 2 incomplete rounds at a reduced dose and was unable to tolerate the side effects. Upon further testing, Larry's heart function had seriously declined. Larry is out of options as his heart is also inoperable. Larry made the decision to stop chemo and his focus has shifted to ensuring his remaining time is as comfortable and peaceful as possible, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

While heartbroken, life's realities hit hard. The financial strain of this illness causes great financial burden. My goal is to raise $25K, easing the burden of medical expenses, pain management, home-based nursing care when Hospice is not available, daily living expenses, and final arrangements.
