Help Larry Byrd Fight Pancreatic Cancer
Hello Friends & Family,
I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my Uncle Larry Byrd and his wife Teri. After months of battling various health issues, his surgeon performed an invasive procedure called the Whipple (an operation to remove the head of the pancreas, the first part of the small intestine (duodenum), the gallbladder and the bile duct). During the procedure his surgeon found several tumors they sent off for biopsy. In the last few days the results came back and confirmed that he has Pancreatic Cancer.
His surgeon believes that she removed the cancer and several cancerous lymph nodes, but he is still facing the fight of his life. His recovery from the Whipple is progressing, but he still has a long road ahead. In the next 6-10 weeks, when his doctors give him the all clear, he will begin chemo therapy to fight what is left of the cancer.
Because of his health issues, he has been unable to work in the last few months. His surgery was performed at USA Health University Hospital in Mobile, Alabama, and because of COVID restrictions, his wife is unable to stay with him. Teri drives to the hospital in Mobile from their home in Biloxi every day. They have a few repairs on their house they need to make and they have mounting medical bills. They will need to continue commuting to Mobile for treatments and they are wanting to avoid processed foods and are committing to a sugar-free diet to continue to fight the cancer. All the bills are adding up. He and Teri could use our prayers and our help!

Larry has touched so many people in his life, in his hometown of Biloxi and in his military career, and I know so many are looking for a way that they can help. What they need now more than ever is our prayers, but if you feel led to contribute to this fundraiser, I know they will be forever grateful. Please feel free to share it! Thank you so much for your support and prayers during this time.
