Larry and Joi are facing a very difficult time and could truly use the support of their family, friends, and community right now.

Larry has already been through so much with his health. After being hospitalized due to serious lung issues, he had to be intubated to help him breathe. Since then, he has undergone procedures to treat and manage the scar tissue with a stents.

Now they are preparing for another trip to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where doctors will evaluate Larry and possibly perform another surgery. At this point, they are even discussing the possibility of placing a tracheostomy to help him breathe again.

With so many unknowns, the emotional and financial stress is overwhelming. They do not yet know exactly when the surgery will take place, which makes planning nearly impossible.

On top of worrying about Larry’s health, Joi is trying to figure out how they will manage the cost of traveling to Nashville. Gas for the trip, parking, a place to stay while they wait for surgery, and food during their stay are all expenses that are adding up quickly.

Right now, it is simply too much for Joi to carry on her own while also supporting Larry through this frightening and uncertain time.

We are asking for help to ease some of this burden so Larry and Joi can focus on what truly matters—his health, his surgery, and his recovery.
