Hi, my name is Eneida Orama, a Stoneybrook resident and a friend of LARISSA MARSIELLO KELLY, whom is also a Stoneybrook resident in the Mayfair community. Larissa is married to Mitch Kelly and has 3 children: Arya, Maya and Gio. The purpose of this non-profit fundraiser to help raise money that will help pay for Larissa's medical expenses.
In the summer of 2023 Larissa started to struggle for weeks with strange and random symptoms. Then in October 2023 she was admitted to the hospital with life threatening symptoms and after being hospitalized for 2 weeks had to undergo pericardial window surgery to remove fluid that was in the sack around her heart and lungs. Later it was discovered that Lupus was the culprit. Sadly, Larissa continues to struggle with her health. They have changed her medications and dosages several times in trying to find the one that can help stabilize her Lupus. In addition to this, she was recently told by her Rheumatologist that she also has systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) and Raynaud's Disease. Larissa is also being seen by a Cardiologist who diagnosed her with a heart disease, since Lupus has affected her heart and lungs.
Sadly, this disease puts Larissa through constant pain and limits her daily activities as Lupus is an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues. It affects the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. Because of her health issues she has had to stop working and has had to drastically limit her daily activities. This has created some economic hardship as now they must only depend on Mitch's Income (husband) as now he is the only household provider.
Larissa never imagined the struggle this journey would be, but with the support of loving family and friends, she is getting through it one day at a time. Although she is in an abusive relationship with her own immune system, she is fighting this war with every fiber of her being and hopes her medical team can find the right medication regimen so that she can find the comfort and strength needed to try and have as much as a normal life as possible.
As we all know medical bills, hospital bills, prescribed medications start to pile up and can become very stressful. It also affects other cost of living expenses that are necessary. Your donation will help Larissa pay for some of those medical expenses, ie: doctors visits, treatments, physical therapy, and prescriptions.
Larissa was always very involved with her children's schools and the Stoneybrook Community. Years ago, she was once one of SB's Fitness Instructor and taught Zumba Fitness for the community. Zumba has always been one of her favorite Fitness Classes. Larissa was always a regular at my Zumba and Cardio classes. That is how we met. But sadly, due to her Lupus, she is unable to enjoy the classes. So, as a way to show our love, care and support for Larissa, I have decided to host a Zumbathon Fundraiser, which will include a line-up of 4 instructors: Tom Kean, Amanda Launer, Paris Ruthmary & Eneida Orama.
