My name is Larissa, and I’m a Brazilian currently living in the United States. In May, I will need to leave the country and return to Brazil so I can restart chemotherapy and be closer to my family while I go through treatment.
This decision is heartbreaking because I was just accepted into my dream master’s program in dance in the USA, something I have been working toward for years. For now, I have to press pause on this dream so I can focus on my health and make sure I’m strong enough to dance again in the future.
I am doing everything I can on my own: selling my car and my belongings, organizing my move, and planning my medical care in Brazil. But with the short time frame and my health situation, I can’t cover all the costs by myself.
I’m fundraising for:
Plane tickets to return safely to Brazil in May.
The international health certificate so my cat can travel with me in the cabin and stay by my side during this process (this alone is 880 dollars).
The amount I will still need to cover after selling my car, since what I owe is more than what the car is worth.
Basic medical and transportation expenses for the first months of my treatment in Brazil, such as doctor visits, exams, medications, and getting to and from the hospital.
My total goal is 10,000 dollars. Any amount, even a small contribution, makes a real difference in helping me get home, start treatment as quickly as possible, and keep my cat safe with me.
If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page is also an incredible help. Thank you for reading my story, for your support, and for helping me take care of my health so I can one day return to my dream of dancing again.
