My name is Larba, I am 24 years old and was born in Togo in the savannah region. In the pursuit of my ambitions to contribute to the development of my country, Togo, I decided to study local development at the University. After obtaining my Scientific Baccalaureate, I started a degree in Local Development at the University of Kara, Togo. After my bachelor's degree, I participated in several data collection activities in the most remote regions of Togo. These data collection activities made me aware of the high degree of poverty experienced by some populations. In those regions, the populations have almost no access to basic social services. At the same time, I realized that I needed more knowledge in order to be able to help the poorest people in my country.
So, I decided to join the master’s program Sustainable Territorial Development (SteDe) gain more knowledge and, acquire the necessary tools to face poverty in all its dimensions. I have been selected along with 25 other students from all over the world.
However, this program has a cost of 6.000 euros per year. The search for a scholarship was not successful. I used all my savings, asked for help from my parents and relatives and, was able to raise 3,000 euros, which is half of the annual tuition fees. The school year started on September 28th, and since then I have been looking in vain for a scholarship. The first semester is coming to an end and we are preparing to start the second semester, which means that I have to pay the other half of the study fees. The second semester will take place in Belgium and the third in France. This means that I have to apply for my visa and pay the fees. Unfortunately, I do not have enough financial resources to sustain myself and pay the fees.
I implore your good heart and generosity in this difficult situation that I am going through. I need a total sum of 10.000 euro in order to be able to support myself and pay my university fees. Even a small sum can help me considerably. You can also simply share this message with your loved ones.
