Help Us Heal Laramie’s Leg and Honor Wendy’s Love for Her Animals

We’re raising funds for our sweet pup Laramie’s leg surgery. After the passing of Isaac’s cousin Wendy, we welcomed Laramie into our home to honor a promise we made — to care for her beloved animals. Now, Laramie needs a costly operation to save her leg and restore her ability to walk and run like she loves to do.

As many of you know, my cousin Wendy passed away this past August. Wendy was a deeply compassionate, kind-hearted soul who lived for her animals. Her pets were more than just companions — they were her lifeline, her family, and her greatest source of joy.

When Wendy passed, she left behind three beloved fur babies: Laramie, Cody, and Otter.

Before her passing, Wendy, Shane, and I made a promise to each other — a heartfelt pact — that if anything ever happened to one of us, we would make sure the others’ animals were cared for, no matter what. We honored that promise with everything we had. We found loving homes for all of Wendy’s pets, including Laramie, her mini Australian Shepherd, who came to live with us in Longmont. She instantly became part of our family, fitting in beautifully with our two cats and three other dogs.

Recently, Laramie injured her back leg while chasing a squirrel in our backyard — something she’s done a hundred times before. But this time, she came back unable to stand on her right hind leg. Our vet determined that she needs reconstructive surgery to walk properly again.

We're reaching out to our community — the same one we’ve always been proud to support through fundraisers, volunteer efforts, and helping friends, families, and small businesses whenever we can. It's incredibly hard for us to ask for help, but right now, we truly need it.

This surgery is essential for Laramie to live a full, happy life. It’s not her time to go join Wendy — she still has so much love and joy to give here. Unfortunately, due to other recent life events, we simply don’t have the means to afford the surgery on our own.
