You may or may not have met the extraordinary Lara Bartol. 

She really needs your help right now. 

Lara dropped out of high school when she was 15 to focus on Motocross racing: she toured the US/Canada, and was offered a six figure sponsorship when she turned 18. Then she wrecked, badly, breaking her back for the 3rd time.

Working 9-5 jobs was impossibly painful, and medication was expensive.
When she turned 20, a friend recommended heroin.

For years, she used heroin constantly to avoid the pain, and keep it together as a functional addict. But then her whole life became about getting high. She is now unemployed, has no community, and no sense of self-worth.
She has lived in her truck for more than a year.
She has died and been resuscitated several times.
She has attempted suicide 6 times.
She is now 24 years old.

She came to Austin, Texas to reconnect with her family here, and to get away from her toxic situation in Medford, Oregon.

She has been clean now for two weeks, which is longer than she's been clean in years.
The time has been transformative:
She has experienced magic with lovely, caring family and friends, an endless fountain of encouragement from the universe, and battled long, painful nights of tears and exhaustion.

The result is this:
She is DONE using. She wants her life back.

Her friend Sophie connected her with a local friend in recovery, Hamilton, and he found her a spot in an amazing recovery program. 

Getting to this point has been huge. It's a complete shift in life, and she is absolutely terrified. Her family in Texas has been extremely supportive, but they have four kids and don't have the money to support her recovery.

If she returns to Oregon, she will die. There is no question about it.

She needs two months, at least, in-patient care here in Austin, to be near her family here, and far from her drug connections.
