Hello,

My name is Laquandra Alford. I’m a hairstylist, wife, and mother of four. In 2012, while pregnant with my first child at the age of 26, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. Doctors discovered I have an autoimmune gene that attacks my kidneys. After 14 years of battling this disease, I’ve reached the final stage: stage 5 Kidney Disease. Now, in order for me to live a full, healthy life and be the wife and mom who can support her family, I need a miracle gift of a new kidney.

Before the progression of this disease, I was able to be active in the gym, weightlifting, kickboxing, and spending time with my family. Now, with only 9% kidney function left, every day is a struggle. At age 18, doctors said I would never conceive after a surgery, and God blessed me to give birth to four children. I want to be healthy and live to see my 4-year-old, 6-year-olds, and 13-year-old grow up and be there to witness proms, graduations, and football games. I’m believing God will deliver me another miracle, and everyone who reads this will feel compassion, and someone will feel a pull on their heart to be my Living Donor and donate a healthy kidney.
