Help LaNise battle angiosarcoma cancer

Donation protected
This is Raeanne, LaNise oldest daughter. Scott Kirk’s wife. (Scooter).
In 2019, my mother was diagnosed with a very rare form of sarcoma cancer called Angiosarcoma. She was told she had only a 30% survival chance. But my Mom is a fighter. She underwent surgeries to remove the tumors, had extensive chemotherapy, and radiation. She still managed to graduate from Illinois College with her Bachelors in Psychology. For the past 2 years, mom’s scans have come back clean and we’ve been so thankful. She just finished up her second year of grad school at University of Illinois, Springfield. But two months ago during April of 2022, the Angiosarcoma has come back with a vengeance. Mom has been diagnosed with Stage 4 metastasized Angiosarcoma and it has spread throughout her back. Her oncologists have told her that regular cancer treatments will not work with this advanced stage and that her best hope of surviving this was to get in to an immunotherapy clinical trial at the Sitemen Cancer Center (Barnes Jewish). She has been accepted to the trial and just had her first treatment infusion.
She is experiencing some side effects and we are encouraging her to rest, but Mom always keeps trying to go forward! BUT, MY MOM AND OUR FAMILY need your help and support please! The travel cost back and forth from treatments (with gas being $5.09 here in Illinois) is taking away funds that we still need for groceries, to run our household, and take care of Owen and Kirklynn. My Dad is trying to be here for all of us as much as he can, but he still has to work to keep us a float. And now, we have medical bills on top of all this fear and pain. Mom is supposed to go Monday, June 13th to MD Anderson in Houston, TX for a second opinion and to become established as a patient in case this clinical trial doesn’t work.
We still don’t know how to pay for the travel, lodging, and meals to help her get there and back to Houston. My mom is literally fighting to stay alive. She wouldn’t set up this GoFundMe herself because my Mom never puts herself before others! So the kids and I are doing it for her! Mom has meant so much to so many people over the years, whether it was singing on stage, meeting people and showing kindness and love, or most recently being a true example of a hero, fighting through the cancer to still work as a counselor, and finish her dreams of college. Will some of you help?
And by doing so, we can show my Mom how much she actually means to the people in her life and who her spirit has touched. Every little bit helps and adds up, but Mom has to get the best shot she can at beating this cancer. Please donate to help her, my Dad (Scooter), and us kids be able to keep food on the table, keep gas in the vehicle for treatment travel, afford lodging, and to help us keep going during this very difficult time. Please share this and let’s make this go viral because this is a rare disease that needs more attention. Angiosarcoma has a terrible survival rate and my brother, sister, and I just aren’t ready to give up our Mom without a fight. Thank you for listening, please give and show my Mom some love please. We also plan to put together a caring bridge site so people can keep current and follow my Mom’s battle and fight. Love and hope to you all.
