Help Laney Jo Hear the World Again
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Shea. My granddaughter, Laney Jo, has been considered deaf since she was two. The doctors said she had 0% hearing in her right ear and 15% in her left, but the trajectory was that she would lose 100% over the next few years. The specialists at Norton’s Children’s Hospital in Louisville think that if they remove previously infected bone and reroute nerves, she might be a candidate for cochlear implants.
She just had her first of several surgeries this week. It went really well. She will be having more surgeries in the months to come. My daughter has had to quit her state job to be able to take care of her (daycare will not allow a child that has had surgery for so many weeks). Her biological father is nowhere to be found. My son in law is a deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department. They just moved in with my daughter’s mom to help pay all of these bills. They are not squandering a penny. They are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, but the other expenses are vast. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
