Help Lane's Family Stay by His Side

Lane is a 13-year-old young man who has battled hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy from birth. Our Superman is a fighter and has beat the odds many times. He has been at St. Mary’s Hospital in Shreveport, LA for 2 weeks and is suffering from 2 types of pneumonia and has an infection called Pseudomonas in his abdomen and in his brain.

He’ll be here for at least another month, probably longer. How it works is he has to have a negative CSF culture (cerebral spinal fluid) and then they start a 21-day countdown on antibiotics. If at any time in those 21 days it grows anything, he’ll have to have another negative result and then the 21 days will restart. This infection is antibiotic-resistant so they are trying different medicines in their attempt to stop the infection.

With all that being said, we are asking for assistance with raising funds for travel to and from Shreveport. Lane must have a parent with him at all times while in the hospital and the costs of gas and travel are only accruing. Even if you are unable to help, please share and pass this along. Lane is our Superman— the happiest boy you’ll ever meet. His smile can light up a room and he has brought so much joy to his family. We ask for continued prayers of healing of his body and brain.
