When my daughter entered Lane Tech in 7th grade, she relied on the writing center to help her gain the skills and confidence she needed to succeed in her classes. Now, as a sophomore, she is a second-year tutor, giving back by helping other students develop the same skills that made a difference for her.
Recently, she was chosen to represent Lane Tech High School at the Secondary Schools Writing Center Association (SSWCA) conference in Connecticut. This is a special honor that brings together tutors from across the country to share their experiences, learn from one another, and return to their schools with new ideas and greater abilities to help their communities succeed. For our family, the travel expenses are a challenge, and we are seeking support to make this opportunity possible for her.
Lane Tech is a large community where students support each other’s success, and the writing center is a vital resource for everyone. By helping my daughter attend this conference, you’re not just supporting her—you’re helping her bring back valuable knowledge and inspiration to share with her peers. We are grateful for any support you can offer to help make this shared success possible.
