Help Lane McGehee Overcome Knee Surgery Costs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lane McGehee. I’m a professional rodeo athlete from Victoria, Texas, and I’ve spent years chasing my dream of becoming a World Champion. Along the way, I’ve earned multiple top-25 finishes and a Collegiate National Championship.
Throughout my journey, I’ve faced significant physical setbacks, including two surgeries—one for a broken leg and another for a hamstring reattachment. With the strength and grace of God, I’ve fought hard to come back each time and continue pursuing the sport I love.
Unfortunately, this year I suffered a serious knee injury, tearing my ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus. I’m scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday, April 21st, 2025, with Dr. Tandy Freeman—widely regarded as one of the best knee surgeons in the country.
While I’m incredibly grateful to have some financial support from my parents, my current insurance (marketplace/Obamacare) does not cover this procedure, as neither the surgeon nor the hospital are in-network. Even after PRCA insurance coverage, I’m still left with approximately $30,000 in out-of-pocket expenses.
I’m starting this GoFundMe to help cover those medical costs. On top of that, recovery will keep me off my feet and unable to work for at least four months.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. Thank you for your support, and God bless you.
