Help Lane Get a Special Tomato Chair

My cousin Tara’s happy 11 month old son, Lane, is in need of a therapeutic Special Tomato Chair and insurance is declining to cover the cost which is utterly ridiculous and very frustrating. I am asking our friends and family to please donate whatever you are able to, so that this gorgeous baby boy can have the equipment he needs and deserves. 

Lane is a sweet baby boy who was born premature at 34 weeks and has a list of medical issues:
Developmental delays
General brain malformations
ventriculomegaly (enlarged ventricles)
Microcephaly
Failure to thrive
Hypertonia
Hypotonia
Calcification on brain 
Thin part of brain where the two halfs meet
White brain matter loss 
Developmentally at a 4 month old level

Due to Lane’s medical conditions, he is unable to sit up without falling over.  He is able to roll over once in a while.

Lane’s parents travel to Greenville for Genetics , The c5 clinic, GI and for any hospital admissions which are unfortunately hours away. Lane also has to travel to see his infectious disease doctor.  Lane’s parents also travel to  Duke Neurology which is 2.5 hrs away. Every time his parents bring him to his necessary appointments, it is time away from work and unfortunately a sizable loss in wages. 

Lane has had 2 CT scans of his brain, 1 MRI, 2 swallow study’s and upper GI testing. He had an ultrasound on his liver. He will be going back to Duke for a 1 hr EEG to see if he is having seizures and will also be getting an echo on his heart the same day.

Once the threat of covid-19 goes away he will be getting yet another MRI. His parents are waiting on the neurosurgeons to call to see what the next steps are as the results of his last  CT scan were not what they were hoping for. 

At 8 months old Lane had a G tube surgery and has been tube fed ever since.  It has been a painful process of finding a feeding tolerable for him. 

Lane currently receives OT 1x week and PT 1x week and it was recommended for him to obtain a Special Tomato Chair.  This specialized chair will be his feeding chair, will help him sit up and interact better and will help with his therapy sessions. The chair has a table built in for him to put toys on and reach for them
.  It also has a head rest so his head will not fall to the sides while trying to perform these essential basic tasks.
