Help Landon get to Disney World
Hello to all our family, friends and friends of friends. For those of you that know us, you probably know that our 7 year old son James has a 6 year old half-brother named Landon that lives with his parents and grandparents (my parents) and that he was diagnosed with cancer last January.
In the spring, Landon had a surgery to remove a grapefruit size tumor from his abdomen. They removed his right kidney, half of his liver, his gall bladder, part of one his arteries (inferior vena cava) , and portions of his diaphragm and small intestines. The picture below is from our trip to take James to see him the day before his surgery.
He has since received heavy radiation treatments to try and combat some other areas of cells that were found. Unfortunately, none of that has worked and we learned last week that Landon has developed two more tumors and that the cancer is terminal. The oncologist told his mom and my mom that Landon has "months, not years" to live.
Landon approached my mom later last week and asked, "Grandma, am I ever going to get to go to Disney World?" So of course, we have now set out to put together a trip for Landon and the family to go on a trip to Disney World in October before he starts to get more sick.
So, it's with our backstory that I ask for your help. With the cost of tickets, travel, lodging and expenses for the family, we have set a donation goal of $15,000. Any money that is collected and not used for the trip and expenses for my parents will be donated to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta where Landon has gotten the best care we could ever possibly ask for.
Thank you for your time and your help. We will never forget it.
Love,
Stacy, Sarah and James
