On October 7th, Lando crashed while snowboarding the Palmer snowfield of Mt. Hood. They heard a pop, and later found that they had sustained extensive ligament damage in their knee. After paying out-of-pocket for multiple specialist visits, they know that surgery is needed to recover.

Lando is a Surinamese DACA immigrant with no immediate family. Because of ongoing processes with their immigration status, they are ineligible for public healthcare, and are uninsured. They are Black, Queer, and non-binary. And they are one of the most passionate advocates of snowboarding and the snowsports community. And they really need help, because snowboarding will no longer be an option without the resources they need for this surgery. This fundraiser aims to cover the immediate costs of surgery, and a small discretionary fund for Lando to sustain themself during recovery while unemployed.
