My name is Landen, and I’m a 17-year-old high school student doing my best to get by. Recently, my landlord made a mistake and accidentally doubled my rent. Even though they sent the payment back, it’s been weeks and I still haven’t received it. Instead of working with me, my landlord is insisting I pay the full amount and has already sent me a failure to pay eviction notice. This has left me in a really difficult and stressful situation, especially since I don’t have the resources to fight this on my own.

I live in section 8 housing and was already struggling to make ends meet. With recent government cuts, I haven’t been able to afford basic necessities like food and water due to changes in SNAP benefits. On top of that, I have two cats I’m trying to care for, and it’s getting harder to take care of myself and keep up with my education. I want to stay in school and keep working toward my goals, but right now, I’m at risk of losing my home.

I’m reaching out for help because I believe that with a bit of support, I can fight this eviction notice, cover my basic needs, and continue pursuing my education.
