Help Lance Recover from a Traumatic Health Crisis

Lance McGrath, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend – needs your help & support, please read on!

On Monday September 9th Lance was scheduled for a routine outpatient surgery for the repair of a bicep tendon to restore range of motion and strength to his right arm.  Most patients are able to return to normal activity, without restriction, 14-20 weeks after surgery.

The Surgeon performed the procedure as scheduled.  During Lance’s time in the recovery room it became apparent that he was unable to regain consciousness.  The outpatient clinic was concerned of a possible stroke and called for emergency transportation to a Specialty Medical Hospital.

Lance spent a week in the CCU undergoing numerous tests in an effort to diagnose the cause of the paralysis on his left side. He remains paralyzed with limited comprehension at this time.

Both unexpected and extremely traumatic for him and his loved ones, Cindy his wife has been by his side 24/7 advocating for the best care possible for Lance. She has been successful in getting him accepted and admitted to Barrow Neurological Institute. Barrow is the world's largest neurological disease treatment and research institution, and is consistently ranked as one of the best neurosurgical centers in the United States.

While they are grateful for his transfer, he remains undiagnosed and the extent of Lance’s injuries are still unknown. With an extended stay in the hospital that involves around-the-clock care, testing, and medication, to be followed by a long period of rehabilitation, the cost associated with this tragic event will likely far exceed what insurance will cover. In addition, their family home will need to be modified to accommodate any special needs he may have in order for him to be able to return home.

As many of you know, Lance is an avid disc golfer who enjoys being active in the outdoors.  Our hope is to have him well and back to enjoying life as he knew it before. Please consider donating to help Lance and his family.  Please note that any contribution no matter the amount, is appreciated.  We ask that you continue to pray for his full recovery.
