Help Lance Fight ALS

Hi, my name is Julia and my sister Sophia, and I are fundraising for my dad's medical care costs. ALS is a progressive disease that has been unkind to my family; however, my dad's optimistic outlook on life has encouraged us to make his life as long and comfortable as possible. The emotional toll my family has endured to see such an intelligent and charismatic man lose his ability to laugh deeply saddens us. My dad has had ALS for five years and can hardly speak. His medical needs become increasingly more expensive each day. He currently pays $20,000 a month for basic in-home care which is not covered by insurance, and that is on top of trying to put my sister and me through college.  Recently, my dad told us there is a potential that he will receive hospice care soon. With less oxygen going into his lungs, doctors suggest that my dad get a trach; he does not want one, let alone can afford one. The risks of this procedure are high, and the nursing care exceeds the basic care he pays for now, but it would give him more time with us. Everyone who knows Lance believes in his optimism and roots to continue his life adventures, including Sophia and me. We support him in all his decisions, as he supports us, and now we are asking for your support.
