We’ve had our dog Lana since she was about 6 months old, and she’s now 13. She’s been part of our family for years and is especially loved by our kids. Recently, she developed an infected molar that is causing her pain. When it flares up, she struggles to eat, sleeps more, and becomes irritable. We even had a scary situation where she got into a fight with our other dog, which is completely out of character for her. It made me realize how much this is affecting her and how urgent it’s becoming. Our vet confirmed that the tooth needs to be removed, and the estimate for the procedure is high. I’ve tried antibiotics and pain medication, but they only provide temporary relief. I’ve also been calling around and looking into assistance programs, but I’m still coming up short. I’m currently out of work due to my own medical issues, and we just don’t have the funds to cover this. Lana still has good moments, and I know this is something that can be fixed. I just want to give her a chance to be comfortable again instead of having to make a decision based on finances alone. Any support or sharing means so much to us.
