Dear friends and all generous and caring people,

I am sending this appeal to all of you who know Lana aka Ceca either personally or professionally, to ask for your generosity in helping Lana and her family get through a very difficult and uncertain times caused by the COVID-19.

Lana and her entire family tested positive with the British strain of the COVID-19 virus at the beginning of May, but Lana’s symptoms were particularly bad. After ten days of being monitored at home, she was admitted to the hospital with very low levels of oxygen in her blood, and doctors soon realized that their only option to save Lana’s life was to put her on a ventilator. Lana was placed into a medically-induced coma and placed belly-down to stop her lungs from completely collapsing and help them heal. She remained in this state for almost 2 weeks. Fortunately, quick action by the doctors paid off and Lana was released from the hospital on June 3rd to continue her recovery at home, while carefully monitored by the doctors.

However, Lana’s ordeal is far from over. Doctors predict that her healing will take at least 3 more months, during which time Lana will not be able to work. Needless to say, COVID-19 crisis has already taken a great toll on her pedicure-manicure business even before Lana got ill. And facing another 3 months of no income threatens to put Lana completely out of business to which she devoted 20 years of her life and hard work. Her customers are finding services elsewhere, the bills are piling up and Lana and her family are really struggling and need our help to just stay afloat. In addition, Lana has to pay for some of the necessary medical equipment out of her own pocket.

We all know Lana as a hard-working, self-employed, strong, smart, vibrant woman of faith, always ready to help anyone in need, who dedicates numerous hours of volunteer work in her community. I am sure no one would ever think that such a mighty woman could struggle so much that she would need anyone’s help. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and I hope all you that read this will contribute with a small donation to help Lana and her family pull through this difficult situation.
