Help Lamonte Secure Safe Housing Transition
Donation protected
My name is Lamonte. I have been unhoused for several years, but thankfully I am finally moving into housing. Unfortunately I can’t move in for a few weeks, which is why I am asking for help during this critical transition in my life. In order to accomplish this move I need to stabilize my living situation immediately by raising funds for a hotel room until I am able to move into a place of my own. I fear that if I don’t have a safe place to stay I could lose contact, get lost in the system and lose this precious opportunity. I have done a lot of work to right my life, and this housing opportunity is the fruit of that effort. Please consider donating so I can finally attain the change that I need and that I have been working towards.
In my time on the street, I found that community support is a necessity for survival. In addition to receiving help, I did my best to be a mentor and return that help to others who also suffered from hard times. I became a community organizer and mutual aid volunteer to provide aid to my fellow unhoused community members and advocate for the protection of our rights as we face displacement and criminalization. I know that when I have housing and stability in my own life, I will be able to serve the community and continue this work even more effectively.
Thank you for your donation, it makes all the difference for me during this precarious but hopeful time.
