Meet Lamar, a bright and loving 17-year-old girl with a dream of becoming an engineer. Just recently, Lamar was diagnosed with bone cancer, turning her and her family’s lives upside down.

She shares an unbreakable bond with her twin sister; they’ve spent every moment of their lives together. Her sister is now watching helplessly as Lamar faces this terrifying illness alone. She shares a tight knit bond with her entire family as she is also a caring older sister to her two baby brothers, who fully adore her, filling their home with laughter during their frequent family nights playing card and board games.

But Lamar’s fight is even more difficult because her family is struggling with severe financial hardship, and they simply cannot afford to get her the care she urgently needs.

Despite everything, Lamar still dares to dream. She wants to beat cancer. She wants to go back to school. She wants to become an engineer and help rebuild the world around her. She just needs a chance.
