Lalo is a Mexican immigrant who came to America in search of a safer environment and better opportunities for his family. Lalo has been checking in weekly with Immigration after being granted a work visa. On Saturday, January 24th, during one of these routine appointments, Lalo was unexpectedly detained by ICE and transported to a detention facility in Baldwin, Michigan. He was unable to contact his family until he arrived at the facility and managed to make a brief phone call to his wife Itzia and his young son Dylan.

Lalo’s sudden detention has left his family without their loving husband and father, and without their main source of income. The family is now facing urgent legal and living expenses as they work to bring Lalo home. Funds raised will go directly toward hiring an immigration lawyer to fight for Lalo’s release and to help support Itzia and Dylan during this incredibly difficult time.
