This morning, while taking out the trash, our orange cat Lala slipped out of the house without us noticing. We searched everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found. Hours later, around 4 pm, my mom spotted Lala in the backyard, and she was bleeding. My teenage daughter quickly brought her inside, and we realized Lala couldn’t close her mouth. Her jaw looked out of place, and she was breathing heavily. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where X-rays revealed a heartbreaking diagnosis: Lala had suffered a mandibular fracture with displacement and a palatal fracture. The vet told us these injuries were the result of someone kicking her in the face. Lala is more than just a pet—she’s a beloved member of our family. Seeing her in pain has been devastating for all of us.

The emergency vet visit was just the beginning. Lala now needs ongoing care, including medications, special food, and several follow-up appointments to give her the best chance at recovery. We’re reaching out because we can’t do this alone. The costs are overwhelming, and every bit of support will go directly toward Lala’s healing.
