Hi friends, family, and everyone in between. My name is Mary and Lala & I have been friends for over 24 years. To many, Lala is known as a spunky, full of life, cheerful, independent, avid hiker, cool & down-for-whatever chick. She is also the loving mother to Mason (7) & Brannon (2) & wife to her beloved Nhong. Daughter, sister, & friend to many. But to me, she’s my #friendsinceeversince ❤️

 

Recently, Lala came into her Dr’s office for a check-up. She discovered a lump on her right breast after an epic hiking trip in Yosemite Valley during the Forth of July weekend of this year. They ran tests and scheduled a mammogram. Soon after, results revealed cancer cells. On 7/27/21, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ductal Carcinoma. They performed a successful mastectomy on 8/9/21 and although there were some complications during the recovery period, she has had lots of rest and is doing tremendously well.

 

Lala begins chemotherapy on 9/24/21. She’ll be receiving her treatments at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Her treatments will be a duration of 6 months with treatments being every 3 weeks. Radiation will soon be after with a duration of 6 weeks, every single day.

 

As many of you know, Lala is a stay-at-home mom and the expenses associated with care for cancer can be very high and cause a lot of stress - something that someone already dealing with an overwhelming diagnosis shouldn't have to deal with. We would like to alleviate some of these pressures by providing Lala with a fund that she can use to offset the costs for treatment and the journey ahead.
