It is with heavy heart we are creating this page for our dear friend Lakshmi Pratti who is diagnosed with Brain Tumor at an early age of 38.

Lakshmi is on dependent visa staying in Portland, Oregon with her Husband Vinay and 10 Year old daughter Jaanya. Lakshmi is a very Active and Joyful person who always spread smiles around.

On May 15th, Lakshmi noticed that she is facing memory issues and is not able to remember some names. This escalated quickly and by end of May, her cognitive skills seems to be moderately impaired. After a doctor visit and tests being done in Portland, she was told that everything seems to be fine and the reports came out normal. But, observing her deteriorating condition, her brother came out for help and took her family to Detroit immediately for a better diagnosis. After several tests, The doctors at DMC SAINAI GRACE Hospital delivered the devastating news that she is suffering from GRADE 4 GLIOBLASTOMA (brain cancer). With no time to spare, they did a Biopsy followed by surgery and were able to clear about 20% of the Tumor. She underwent and completed radiation therapy at the DMC SAINAI GRACE cancer center.

Currently she is moved to Henry Ford cancer institute for Chemotherapy and better clinical trails. Her condition is critical and the road to recovery is going to be very long and painful. We can only imagine the pain her family is going through.

We as friends initiated this fund raiser to help Vinay reduce some financial burden as the Insurance do not cover most of the expenses. Currently the processed bills by insurance exceeded an amount of 300,000.
