Support for Lakesha Harris and Her Daughters

We are reaching out to our community with heavy hearts and a plea for support for our beloved friend, mother, and neighbor, Lakesha Harris. Lakesha is a God-Fearing woman, USPS Government employee for over a decade, and devoted single mother of two beautiful daughters—one 18, who is preparing to begin her college journey and another who is 15, currently a sophomore in high school. She has always worked tirelessly to provide for her children and build a strong, supportive future for them.

Tragically, Lakesha was the victim of a violent ambush and assault outside of her home while she was on her way to drop off a child. Instead of receiving the protection and care she deserved under the Constitution Amendment 2A (Self-Defense), Lakesha was wrongfully arrested and has been unjustly held in jail for over seven months.

This devastating situation has not only stripped Lakesha of her freedom but has also placed an unimaginable emotional and financial burden on her daughters, who are now navigating the challenges of growing up, finishing high school, and preparing for college—all without their mother’s support.

We are seeking financial assistance to:

• Help cover legal fees to fight for Lakesha’s release and justice,

• Provide educational and living support for her daughters as they continue their schooling,

• Sustain the family through this incredibly difficult and uncertain time.
