Students in the Lakehurst Elementary School need your help! The students have been displaced from mold infestation and the entire building requires remediation. It is anticipated that the students will not be able to return until November 12, 2018. Currently, students are utilizing classrooms in a nearby community church and are doubled up into grade level classrooms in three nearby schools. The anticipated costs are extraordinary! Lakehurst has sought out all financial resources, but as a community we are looking for support for the replacement of books, supplies, basic needs, and bus transportation, as well as assist in mold remediation. The district as a whole is in dire need of financial support due to the excessive costs that have now put the school in an insecure situation. The entire community is eager to open the doors in November and supply students with the same resources and materials they had prior to this unexpected tragedy.
The students need well in excess of $500,000 to alleviate the effects of mold-related issues. The necessary funds would be utilized for remediation, restoration of classrooms, replacement of our entire school library, classroom books, student supplies, furniture, and technology that was lost due to the excessive nature of the mold and the damage it caused.
Our students, their families, and staff are living through one of the most traumatic events a community could experience. Please offer your help to them, it would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
