Laila's life was saved and she is home - A Christmas Miracle!

This is Karissa here to thank you for all your donations, well wishes, prayers, shares, and love! We got Laila home for Christmas and she is doing absolutely incredible!

Laila stayed in the hospital for an entire week and the liquid IV and therapy worked and helped her heal. She started by throwing up and spewing blood out of her booty -this was an infection that we have NO IDEA where it came from. Then it turned into Acute Pancreatitis and Sepsis. BRIGHT Animal care and her doctors, vet techs, the front desk, and my people kept her alive and she made it out of critical care and then we had to get her to eat on her own. I had requested to take her home for a couple hours to see if I could get her to eat and she DID IT so I got to get her IV and tubes out and take her home. The reason she needed to eat on her own is so she could get nutrition and receive her medications. She is back to her sassy self and thriving. This all was a true Christmas miracle and I completely appreciate you all more than you will ever know. The financial impact is rough ahead, so all your donations truly are a God send and I'm beyond thankful.

The final bill and treatment came to $21,455.11. Every dollar is going straight to what I owe and will continue to alleviate payments. I LOVE YOU GUYS! Including those who I don't know. Your love is so encouraging, kind, and inspiring and has quite literally made me break down and cry from thankfullness. Laila and I love you all so much. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Karissa’s world turned upside down when her beloved dog Laila was suddenly struck with a severe illness. In a matter of hours, Laila went from being her playful self to needing emergency hospitalization. She has been in critical care for a week now, bravely fighting for her life. Laila has endured profuse bleeding and has required feeding tubes to keep her strength up. Through it all, Karissa has never left her side, spending sleepless nights at the hospital and doing everything she can to comfort Laila, even trying to feed her broth and chicken by hand when possible.

The emotional and financial toll of this crisis has been overwhelming. The cost of Laila’s life-saving care continues to grow, and more treatment is still needed, including additional feeding tubes and ongoing critical care. Karissa’s love for Laila is unwavering, but the mounting bills are more than she can handle alone. Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving Laila the best chance at recovery and easing the burden on Karissa during this incredibly difficult time.
