My name is Laila Trevino, and at only 18 years old, I am fighting for my one-year-old son, Caden. Beginning on April 28th, I temporarily stayed with Caden’s father and his family while struggling with postpartum depression and trying to improve my mental and emotional health for my son. On May 13th, after being encouraged to take time to work on myself, I briefly stayed with family while staying in communication the entire time about returning for my son. I was supposed to return on May 19th, but severe weather made it unsafe to travel, which I communicated as well. When my mother and I finally returned to pick up Caden and my belongings, they refused to give my baby back, and police told us there was nothing they could do. Since then, I have been served with court papers and accusations attacking my parenting, despite the fact that I have always loved and cared for my son with everything I have.

I now have a stable living situation, I am working two jobs, and I am doing everything possible to prove I am a loving and capable mother so I can bring my son home. I am urgently trying to raise funds for attorney fees, court costs, anything custody related, and transportation so I can hire the legal help I need to fight for my parental rights and reunite with my baby. Every donation will go towards giving my son and I a chance to be together again and move forward with stability, safety, support, and love.
