Laila is my loving and spoiled American Bully who has always been a joyful part of my life. Recently, she stopped eating for two days, and I noticed blood in her stool, mucus, and blood draining from her vulva. She was drinking large amounts of water, throwing up excessively, and became very dehydrated and uncomfortable. Hearing her moan in pain broke my heart, and I knew I had to get her help right away.

On Friday, I took Laila to the vet, where she was diagnosed with pyometra—a life-threatening infection. The vet told me she needed emergency spay surgery and that without it, she might not make it through the night. I was able to cover the office visit and bloodwork, but I simply don’t have the funds for the surgery. Thankfully, I found a vet willing to do the surgery with a down payment and a payment plan, but I still need help to make this possible. Right now, Laila is on IV antibiotics and fighting for her life.

I have tried every option I can think of, including applying for CareCredit and Scratchpay, and reaching out to nonprofit organizations for help. Unfortunately, I haven’t been approved or able to get enough assistance. Any donations will go directly toward Laila’s surgery and recovery.
