Hi everyone, my name is Laila Hatcher. I’m an incoming freshman at Point Park University, and this school truly feels like where I’m meant to be. I’ve worked really hard to get here and was so excited to begin this next chapter. Over the past year, my family has gone through a lot. My mom was the full-time caregiver for her grandmother, who passed away in March. On top of that, my older brother had to take time off from college due to financial struggles, and things have only gotten harder since then. I’ve been applying to scholarships nonstop and reaching out to different resources, but I recently found out that I may not be able to attend Point Park this fall because of what’s left to pay. I’m trying to raise enough to cover my first semester while I continue looking for more options and doing everything I can to stay enrolled. If you’re able to donate anything, I’d be so grateful.
