Lagniappe was rescued in Mexia TX with a severe leg injury, and now is in my foster care in San Marcos TX. I’m a 14-year medical, neonatal and hospice foster with lots of experience treating this type of injury. She is 4 months old, only 3 pounds, and has missing or fractured toes, fractured metatarsals, and more wrong with her back right foot. It’s so severe that she needs an amputation surgery, and our wonderful vet at Kings Highway Animal Clinic in San Marcos has been able to fit her into the schedule for a combination spay and amputation surgery on Tuesday January 13.

The initial estimate is $1900 and we are working fast to raise as much as possible via GoFundMe or direct donations to Diane Welker or the vet clinic. The vet is also working to lower the total estimate, to help her on the road to recovery.

We will reduce the fundraising goal here as we receive offline donations and reductions, and post ongoing updates. She’s expected to fully recover and go on to live a happy and healthy life, after this extraordinary medical care.
