Help Laetitia and Her Children Escape Haiti

I have created this fundraiser on behalf of my friend and co-worker, Laetitia Dorfeuille.

Laetitia and her two young children are currently trapped in Haiti, facing an unimaginable nightmare. The streets have turned into battlegrounds as violent gangs have seized control, leaving innocent civilians like Laetitia and her family in grave danger.

The recent assassination of the president and forced resignation of the prime minister has plunged Haiti into chaos, with gangs terrorizing and taking control of major cities. Turf wars, armed conflict, and unspeakable acts of violence have become daily occurrences. Women are targeted for kidnapping and rape, and dead bodies in the streets have become commonplace. Laetitia's neighborhood is under threat as gangs move closer, making it impossible for her to step outside without risking her life.

Many roads are blocked by gangs, leaving Laetitia with limited options for escape. However, there is a glimmer of hope: the possibility of reaching safety by boat or plane to a neighboring country. Yet, Laetitia lacks the necessary funds to secure passage for herself and her children.

Ironically, Laetitia has dedicated herself to advocating for Haitians and assisting them with evidence collection and translation to support their immigration cases and help them achieve stability in the United States. Despite her invaluable contributions to others' lives, she finds herself unable to secure her own passage to safety amidst the escalating conflict in Haiti.
